Cheap as their name implies.

Many hosts offer free domain registration with their hosting plans.  It’s tempting.  But I’ve cancelled plans & then had to pay over $20 for the “free” domain name.  Then I’ve switched hosts & had to login to the old one to manage my domain name.  I could’ve transferred it to my new host but that would’ve cost even more money.  Instead, I’ve come to prefer keeping my registrar & host separate.

Namecheap is a registrar & they’re so cheap I got two domain names for the price of the one above.  They’re recommended elsewhere which is why I went to them in the first place.  Due to installing an SSL certificate I had a bit of trouble pointing one domain name to the other.  I requested help & they replied quickly plus their advice actually worked.  So I’m going to recommend them here.
